Zhang Lihua and Vasilis Trigkas wrote an article for Carnegie-Tsinghua Center for Global Policy attempting to explore how the New Silk Road could help Greece to recover. In their view,China and Greece have now the opportunity to deepen their co-operation culturally, commercially and materially. As far as the economic pillar is concerned, they – inter alia – propose that Greece might engage directly with Chinese companies and explore the potential for Sino-Greek partnerships for innovation. Zhang Lihua and Vasilis Trigkas also lay emphasis on tourism and shipping by explaining that China has already given significant loand to Greek shipowners and encouraging the Greek National Tourism Organisation to employ an efficient communication strategy within China.
