In order to expand its international impact the Thessaloniki International Fair is looking for partnerships with several countries. The 81st Fair, which is currently taking place, in Greece’s second largest city has granted Russia the status of an honorary guest. Next year it will be China the country having this status. Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras announced this new co-operation scheme between the two countries during his speech in Thessaloniki on Saturday 10 September 2016. Representatives of the Thessaloniki International Fair had joined Greek Premier during his visit in China in July 2016 making important contacts with representatives from Shenzhen and Canton.
In 2014, China was dynamically present at the Thessaloniki International Fair. It was represented by Zhejiang Broad International Convention & Exhibition of Zhejiang Province. Textile, technology and silversmith companies as well as ones dealing with household and hotel equipment and general trade introduced their products and services in the Greek public.
