China Philharmonic Orchestra in Athens

OrchestraAthens and the Odeon of Herodes Atticus are the next station of China Philharmonic Orchestra’s ‘Silk Road’  tour. On Wednesday 19 August 2015 the internationally renowned orchestra under the direction of conductor and artistic director Long Yu, will perform the notorious ‘Polovtsian Dances’ from Alexander Borodin’s opera ‘Prince Igor’, He Zhanhao’s and Chen Gang’s ‘Violin Concerto’ and the famous Symphony No.9 from the ‘New World’ by Antonin Dvorak. The China Philharmonic Orchestra is widely recognised by music lovers both in China as well as abroad. It constitutes of many distinguished musicians who work passionately, with the ambition to be the best orchestra in China and one of the most important both in Asia and in the global music scene.
