In an article written by Kerin Hope on doing business in Greece, Financial Times focuses on Chinese investments in the country. In particular, special reference is made to China COSCO Shipping which bought a 67 percent of Piraeus Port Authority for €368m for 67 per of and on its committment to invest €150m in 2017 in improving facilities for cruise ships, reviving a ship repair zone and expanding capacity for container traffic, to be followed by another €350m over the next 10 years. Also, Financial Times pays attention to the interest shown by Chinese companies in Greece’s energy sector. That is because China State Grid, in partnership with Terna of Italy, was the high bidder for a 24 per cent strategic stake in ADMIE, Greece’s power grid operator.
