Representatives of the Greek local administration are present during this year’s International Islands Tourism Conference which takes place in Zhoushan from 21 until 23 September. In particular, Mayors of the islands of Lefkada, Mr Mr Konstantinos Drakontaidis, of Zakynthos, Mr Pavlos Kolokotsas and of Melos, Mr Damoulakis, Mr Gerasimos Damoulakis, have positively responded to the invitation from the Chinese side. In their presentations in Zhoushan, they attempted to promote their islands and discussed perpsectives of Sino-Greek cooperation in the fields of culture, tourism and the economy. Consul General of Greece in Shanghai, Mr Vassilis Xiros, also attended the event.
