Giving an interview ahead of the Greek snap election of 20 September 2015 former vice-President Ioannis Dragasakis said that his government failed to find a loan in non-EU countries before accepting the third bailout on 12 July 2015. Mr Dragasakis mentioned, inter alia, the case of China which he – along with former Foreign Minister Nikos Kotzias – visited in March 2015. But such a scenario only was wishful thinking. The website chinaandgreece.com had explained from the very first beginning that China would play a secondary role in the Greek crisis.

Greek citizens are the ones who will again pay a heavy price for the incompetence of politicians to make correct and timely decisions, acknowledge hard reality and implement necessary structural reforms. The  government of SY.RIZ.A and Independent Greeks only constitutes part of the problem as previous administrations of PA.SO.K and New Democracy had also failed to guarantee a better future for the country. Without political consensus and will for co-operation Greece will hardly overcome its economic crisis after the snap election.
