China’s Tibet Autonomous Region is gradually becoming a significant tourism destination. According to the Regional Tourism Development Commission, approximately 310,000 tourists visited the regionduring the 2017 Spring Festival holiday. This constitute an annual increase of 7.9 percent. Tourism revenue rose 9.3 percent year on year to 259 million yuan (38 million US dollars during the period) . Last year, Tibet recorded more than 23 million visitors, bringing revenue of 33 billion yuan.
