A book containing Chinese President Xi Jinping’s remarks on governance made its debut on Wednesday 8 October at the Frankfurt Book Fair in Germany. Cai Mingzhao, Director of the Information Office of China’s State Council, Gerhard Schroeder, former German Chancellor, and Shi Mingde, the Chinese Ambassador in Germany, attended the ceremony in Frankfurt. The book, Xi Jinping: The Governance of China, was recently published by the Foreign Language Press in nine languages – Chinese, English, French, Russian, Arabic, Spanish, Portuguese, German and Japanese. The book has 18 chapters, comprised of 79 articles highlighting Xi’s speeches, answers to questions, conversations and instructions from November 15, 2012 to June 13, 2014. In an opening speech at the book fair on Wednesday, Cai said the book answers a lot of major questions related to China’s development in the new era and the book will serve as a “window” for the world to understand China.
