China and the EU plan a joint space mission of low cost. The proposed project, called Discovering the Sky at the Longest Wavelengths (DSL), is one of around 15 submitted for a call by the European Space Agency (ESA) and the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) that closed on 16 March 2015 according to Nature magazine. In particular, ESA Directorate of Science and Robotic Exploration and CAS have agreed to jointly pursue a scientific space mission, to be implemented by the ESA Science Programme and the Chinese National Space Science Centre (NSSC) under the CAS. The present Joint Call for Missions solicits proposals for such mission from the scientific communities in the ESA Member States and in China.
