On the occasion of the fourth ministerial conference of the Istanbul Process, Chinese State Councilor Mr Yang Jiechi met with Iranian Foreign Minister Mr Mohammad Javad Zarif on 31 October 2014. According to Mr Yang, China is ready to work with Iran to advance bilateral issues. In his view, the current momentum might also facilitate negotiations for a comprehensive agreement on Tehran’s nuclear programme. For his part, Mr Zarif concentrated on the important role played by China on this issue.
