Chinaandgreece remembers Nanjing massacre

nanjing massacreOn Saturday 13 December 2014 China  observed its first National Memorial Day for Nanjing Massacre Victims. President Xi Jinping and others gathered at a memorial hall in the city, where invading Japanese soldiers slaughtered more than 300,000 people  77 years ago.The commemorative service gained worldwide media attention.  Founder of chinaandgreece George Tzogopoulos was interviewed by People’s Daily on this occasion.  Tzogopoulos emphasised the importance of history in order to remember atrocities of the past and pay tribute to victims. He, nevertheless, argued that that new generation of Chinese and Japanese people can gain much more if they live in peace and friendship.
