The Greek National Tourism Organisation (GNTO) is taking action to attract more Chinese tourists China after arrivals from the world’s most populous country soared 63.4 percent in the first quarter of the year on an annual basis. In particular, the GNTO office in China has organised a press trip to Crete for the Asian country’s television channel CCTV-6 for the filming of a documentary on the Minoan civilization. Documentaries on the Mycenaean and Cycladic civilizations will follow.It has also arranged a press trip by China Daily journalists to northern Greece for a series of reports the newspaper is preparing about the modern ‘Silk Road’ linking China with Europe.
