Xinhua news agency extensively covered the demonstration which took place in Athens on 23 June 2015 in support of Greece’s stay in the euro. As it reports, ‘Greek citizens went back to the streets of Athens to support the country’s stay in the eurozone, as leaders of the European single currency member states convened an emergency summit in Brussels on Monday evening trying to reach a deal on the Greek debt crisis and avoid default’. The news agency published different pictures from the demonstrations showing people shouting and holding EU flags.
