The Fourth EU-China Summer school took place this July and August in Athens and Spetses. This summer school was organised by the Centre International de Formation Européenne (CIFE), the Europa-Institut of the University of the Saarland (EI), and the European Center of Economic and Financial Law (ECEFIL) of Panteion University in Greece for the 4th time. The website chinaandgreece.com contributed by co-organising with the Piraeus Chamber of Commerce and Industry the conference: ‘Piraeus and New Growth Opportunities for Greece’.
A total number of 29 Chinese students had the opportunity not only to attend courses on European integration, Greek history and international relations but also to enjoy a programme of additional activities. They – inter alia – visited the Greek Parliament, the Acropolis, the Greek Archaelogical Museum and Zappeion. Founder of chinaandgreece.com, George Tzogopoulos spoke to the Chinese students on Sino-Greek and Sino-European trade and investment relations. Among others, he explained why China is interested in investing in Greece as the recent conclusion of privatisation of the Piraeus Port Authority outlined.
